Experience
I am a 20 year old researcher and engineer.
At work
Since July '26, I've been interning as a Research Engineer at [Stealth], which recently raised over $20m in its seed round. I work alongside a team who were previously founding members at OpenAI, DeepMind and Sarvam AI. Here, I'm building a harness to run massive agent swarms, studying their emergent behaviours and doing some post-training experiments.
During my freshman year (till June '26), I interned at the Language Technologies Research Centre, IIIT Hyderabad. I helped co-author Marginal Volume Sampling as an Approximation to k-DPPs (currently under review at AISTATS 2027) under Prof. Anil Nelakanti, and built a tool to understand NPU operator fusions.
In the winter of '25, I worked at a startup to improve one of BuyMeACoffee's content moderation engines.
After work
- I reverse engineered Qualcomm's NPU compiler in June '26 and got an email from Qualcomm Netherlands. Writeup Tweet
- I built a ~1200 Elo chess engine that fits within 2 KB, which Andrej Karpathy liked on Twitter. HN Tweet
- Within 16 hours, I learnt enough Triton to write a QR decomposition kernel that ran 10.4x faster than PyTorch's QR on NVIDIA B200 GPUs. Writeup Tweet.
- I post trained a model to write demos and showed how to manufacture "taste". Writeup HN Tweet
- I used neural cellular automata to make tiny language models finish pre-pretraining twice as fast. Paper Tweet
- I found neuron groups in Qwen3.5 4B and showed how to hot-swap NPC behaviour in visual novel games. GitHub Tweet
- I trained a Jev-like decision model to figure out whether my crush was flirting. Writeup.
- I used my lab's RTX 6000 Ada to investigate LLM inference optimizations across different workload patterns. Writeup.
- I made a vector search library and cold emailed Turbopuffer's CTO for an internship in my freshman year. GitHub
- I programmed multiple ray tracers between September and December '25, until my ThinkPad's cooling fan suffered damage. Writeup GitHub
For others
I help run Threadlocked, a community trying to bring back the spirit of the old hacker culture in India and the rest of APAC. I am also a member of Lagrange Point. Previously, I moderated India's largest engineering subreddit (r/Btechtards).
